Well, I must state a fact--RAMBLERMANIA is by far the best Fan Board in the MISSOURI VALLEY CONFERENCE !! I have looked at them all and they pale by comparison. This is but a tribute to John T, our Editor. He has taken the bit and run with it. Facts , figures , opinions as well as updates when germane , from other Boards and publications. He is always right on it--- This takes nothing away from the other MVC organs--they are fine--some better than others--Ours is just the best--period.

One thing though sticks out--the caliber of our fellow opponents who stop by to post---Class guys all--You know who you are--Thanks a ton.

I have been blessed with John's friendship for many years--through thin and thinner--as it goes. He has written many words over the years re all things LOYOLA SPORTS--mostly Hoops--but since our MVC association, he has just blossomed--Not that he was not good back in the day--even wrote a book re Loyola Hoops. But lately--just just just SUPERB John. Sometimes a little sad, many times ecstatic as the case warranted--but always on point--always.

Just think, guys , how he will be when we rise to the top --as I know we shall--SOON !!
How lucky we Ramblers are to have John--a true gentleman and a true professional as our Editor !!

Thanks for the kind words, Brot, but that's a little embarrasing.

Big Joe had been running the old site for a while, very well. He made it into a self-sustaining entitity financially. But his work focus changed quite a bit which curtailed some of his involvement. Since I'd been such a loud-mouthed proponent of getting out of the Horizon, and since I knew a little about the new league, I decided to take on the establishment of a new site and board.

This new format brings in a few bucks more than expenses during basketball season and a few bucks under the rest of the year. So it's basically cost-free for me-- other than time-- but I enjoy it. Hopefully we can get a couple hundred more members to keep it lively, and so I won't feel like I'm dominating the conversation. I'm a little disappointed on that count. We miss Senex and Greybee and a few others from the old site.

And as long as we're throwing around compliments, thanks to GoRamblers, ahunte1, swellafelon, and BigJoe for their tips, assistance and participation.

You see !! We have accomplished just what I was seeking--My comments were all true and on point--however a hidden motive was to attract a few more bloggers.

As far as Big Joe goes--you and he were my first Pals BACK IN THE DAY--I never forget him--and DAWN whom I had the privelege of meeting one night at the WOLSTEIN Center in Cleveland---They were just boy and girl then --Marriage to follow !!

He used to get on my case politically as did you--BUT so what !! We are RAMBLERS and good friends !! Nuf sed !!

Happy to help, JCT. It's the least that I could do after you've created this great forum where, I'm privileged to say, I've met some really great people. Ahunte1 doesn't count...I met him outside of this forum.

I've been trying to recruit OC and e2727 back, but both have moved into roles with far heavier workloads than the days of the old board. Sadly, it's tough to fault anyone for falling away from the program with the seasons we've had in recent memory.

I don't know what e2727 does for a living, but if ocrambler is a public defender, he has no excuse for not posting on Ramblermania.

I figure he spends about one hour per day negotiating plea deals in the hallway, another couple hours cross-examining witnesses about their eyesight and priors, and maybe 45 minutes speechifying about either "reasonable doubt" or "Fruit of the Forbidden Tree". That leaves at least half the work day to either do real estate closings on the side, or post on Ramblermania.


In truth, I miss both those guys, and wish them nothing but the best.

If anyone knows what a public defender does, it's Swella. After all, he avails them of their services on a very regular basis.
