A10 Portal
So I looked up in Verbal Commits all the A10 Activity. Some thoughts.
1. I only found 3 graduating seniors who had played their entire careers at the same college
2. Was interesting how many foreign players there are...maybe 20% or more ?
3. Was interesting how many private school players....maybe 50% or more ?
4. VCU has lost a lot of veteran players...couple of Bryant coaches following their coach to VCU
The #s here are players leaving, new players committed, and players staying...I did not include incoming freshman or walk ons or players leaving due to end of eligibility....THERE IS A LOT MORE ACTION TO YET TAKE PLACE
Davidson 4 1 6
Dayton 2 0 5
DUQ 4 0 5
Fordham 5 1 4
G.Mason 3 3 4
G Wash 4 0 7
LaSalle 6 1 3
Rhode IS 6 0 2
Richmond 3 1 7
St. Joes 2 1 8
St.louis 6 3 6
St. Bonn 7 2 3
VCU 5 2 2
Loyola 2 1 7

St. Joe's just took a huge hit in the portal today...courtesy of our old friends in Oklahoma no less.

The NCAA has hit Fordham's men's basketball program with three years of probation, a $35,000 fine, and recruiting sanctions.
The Rams are being punished for bringing recruits to photoshoots in Times Square, a bowling alley, trips to Knicks, Nets, and Giants games, and more.

That's it? Seems quaint. All the broken promises being made to kids re: NIL seem way worse.natetheskate wrote:

TY Johnson in the portal as well. Unfortunately, he is one of many in the portal who is technically out of eligibility and hoping for some NCAA / court ruling that grants additional eligibility.

If you think there might be some humor in all this, get a copy of "Big Time" by Rus Bradburd. It imagines that Coors has taken over (without naming names) the U Colorado athletic enterprise which now controls the president and the entire university. Events actually outran the author while he was writing the book and some of the really funny stuff he conjured actually became history before publication last fall. Probably more fun if you spent your life in academia, but I think it's a good read in any case.natetheskate wrote:and at the same time Kentucky is turning their athletics department into a LLC...Is this where we are all headed? https://www.si.com/fannation/college/cf ... lc-company
