New thread alert: coaching staff starting to hand out Class of 2025 offers. Local kid from Whitney Young and plays AAU for Meanstreets. PrepHoops Illinois has him as the #4 player in the state for the class of 2025

I know I’ve got nothing age-wise on some posters here, but for some reason seeing class of 2025 is really starting to make me feel old.

interesting to go on Verbal Commits and check out some of the other A-10 schools. If you look at Dayton they are competing with P5 schools for recruits....highly ranked kids...St.Louis has 25 offers out already. interesting that they seem to have 3 targets, a lot of St.Louis kids, a lot of kids from the East Coast going up a lot of A-10 teams and the state of Texas.
In a conversation I had with someone in the Athletic Department it seemed that they are going to shy away from true freshman, believing that with the transfer portal many will transfer if they do not get playing time or if they really do well will transfer up....squeezed from both ends with true freshman. They also do not want to rely on as many grad transfers as we have recently but would like to focus on guys like Sheldon Edwards and Des Watson. transfers with a couple years of eligibility. Who knows? still kind of unknown territory. My guess is that the offers we make to incoming freshman will be to players we have really done due diligence on and we know that they are invested in LU beyond basketball..like academics or being in the Chicago area. I am hoping that Miles Rubin is one of those guys..and also hoping that he can help us bring in a couple of kids who may have left the Chicago area and are looking at coming back.
So I would be surprised if we hand out many 2025 offers to true freshman

6'10 Nick Allen from Bradley-Bourbanis mentioned in Sun-Times today as having an LU offer.

Local kid, 6’7 guard. Has offers from Illinois, Marquette, and Miami (OH). Visits to Minnesota and Wisconsin as well.

Now that Mullins is out at SIU, will his Dad funnel him to LUC? We got Kennedy and Welch out of that AAU program when Bryan was coaching here.
