Extra Eligibility for Hoopers?

Not sure how I'm going to keep the Scholarship Chart up to date.

Does this mean that the coming basketball season will be cancelled? What happens to the years of eligibility of the current recruiting classes? Will they get 5 years of eligibility or lose playing time to fifth year seniors?
Maybe this opens a window to solving some of the inequities in college basketball such as allowing high school grads to sign with pro teams and legislating penalties to discourage one-and-dones.

I’m sure more clarity will come later, but very interesting

I guess my question is ... does this potentially mean Krut and Williamson would be able to be Grad Students and play for Loyola (or another team) next year?

Yes. With the caveat that details are still being worked out which impact what those scenarios would look like.

Based on some of the rumors, it sounds like if they stay at Loyola they wouldn't count against the 13 player scholarship limit, but if they go somewhere else, they do count against that school's 13. Everything that I've heard is just a rumor though.

If this is the case and Krut wanted to go 5, we would be scary good next year...

I would like to point out that I predicted this very measure in July:

Yet another feather in my cap, if you're keeping score.

Swella predicted a temporary rule change. It appears that the proposed changes are meant to be permanent.

My predictions were for an extra year of eligibility for players on the roster this season and for added scholarship slots to accommodate this. These are temporary measures
I believe you're thinking about the proposed change in transfer rules, which is a separate issue and would be permanent if enacted.
