Kudos, Blue, for harkening back to the "Glory Days" of Ramblermania (My opinion only-I respect many of the newer posters on the Board, including ahunte, 12, 08, superfan, etc.)

But I'm afraid B (who started the original blksgrl thread way back when) is a victim of the Calhoun cabal, and isn't allowed to use his talent for gentle irony on Ramblermania anymore.

I'm happy that there are still some oldtimers active on the board, including yourself, GoRamblers, 63, Brot, badsneakers, 01grad, 86, etc.

I'm tearing up...

I just spent 20 minutes looking for "the original blksgrl thread" to no avail.

Since I'm half in the bag and feeling nostalgic, I might as well take this opportunity to introduce Swella's newest alter ego: SOMINEX, Swella's half-ass but sincere attempt to inject a bit of Senex-style class and humor to Ramblermania.

I'm sure everybody on Ramblermania misses Senex while he is on the DL for an ailment I surely will never suffer from: non-alcoholic cirrhosis.

I can never hope to replicate Senex's arrowdition (sp?), his fluency in Latin, his repertoire of corny jokes and newsroom anecdotes,
his softball questions and obscure Loyola trivia. But I'll give it my best shot to fill the void until the real deal, Senex, returns.

I'm thinking I might call on GoRamblers to help me come up with an appropriate avatar...
