On Verbal Commits using new math I counted 11 scholarship players, 3 walk-ons and a transfer red-shirt plus a verbal commit from homesick Treyvon Andres. It also shows us still offering two JC guards. Does anyone know the scoop? I also noticed in an article in the SOuthern Illinoisian they mentioned one addition for the new year and it was Treyvon Andres. I am thinking we were really counting on this guy. How does this work? He committed came to campus and started working out with the team, apparently did not feel comfortable (big city and all) and left. Does his scholarship count against us?, can he return? etc. Northwestern lost a player, Johnny Vassar two years ago (decided not to play) remained in school and NU can not use his scholarship.
So do we have a scholarship available and if so what are we going to do with it ?

I haven't researched this, but I imagine Treyvon's departure prior to the start of the 2016-17 academic year freed up his scholarship, so, probably yes, we have one available to give this year. But I could be wrong. It all depends on the NCAA scholarship regulations. Maybe since he was enrolled (apparently) for the summer session means his scholarship is unavailable. But since school has started already, there is no chance the roster will change with or without an available scholarship, so the question is academic.
As for next year, we still have one uncommitted scholarship to offer.

Well. we all got back from the cemetery or wherever this BOARD went !!! Glad we are up and alive again.
If I were a good recruit . I would pick LUC EXCEPT for the LOUSY Fan support !! Who wants to play in front of little bitty "crowds" ??
We have a good up and coming nicely scheduled team in a fine league BUT only very few Fans !! Shame on the Soph Junior and Senior students----Let us hope the Freshmen reverse the trend !!!
ALSO the Sports people MUST do better in recruiting FANS !!
But here I am again, preaching to the Choir !!! Our team is good and ready to rise==led by a coach who REALLY has his team's interests at heart--not just his own !!!

Judging by streak's and 64's posts, it looks like I might have been wrong in assuming the roster was set for this year. They seem to have an inside source.
Since classes have already begun, any new player has to enroll asap.
I researched Cvorovic a bit. He was rumored to be headed for Western Kentucky, but isn't listed on their official roster. He was on Montenegro's U18 national team in 2014 and their U20 team in 15 and 16, but didn't see any action for whatever reason.
Watched some video. He looks to be a small forward and definitely not a 4 or 5.

Highlights. It's pretty weird but i can't find any international stats on him. There was talk of him having multiple D1 offers on the WKU board and that he looked solid working out over the summer. But I really haven't been able to find who he held offers from or how he performed abroad... Based on the video he looks like an athletic wing type.. def needs to put on some weight. While I would have preferred to bank roll this scholarship into next year at least we're getting someone with a D1 pedigree this late in the game.
