I guess we all saw this coming.

Good luck to Mo. Seems like a nice guy who comes from a great family. Montana State would be a logical destination.

Wouldn't be surprised if Granic left. He found himself in Porter's doghouse the second half of the season. Tyson Smith's departure wouldn't be a shock either.

Although Mo Kirby was never dominant at his position...I was impressed with how much he improved from last year. I am as far from being a kinesiologist as Trump is to rational but it seems like he had a hard time converting body mass to muscle.....but a good team guy and hope he does well wherever he goes.

Oh brother....too many Guinesss' watching NCAA and posted before I was done,(could happen again) but I wanted to say that I thought Gratko showed some offensive skills and basketball IQ but just did not handle his defensive assignments very well and that seems to be Coaches #1 criteria for playing time. Also just seems to be a trend of Coaches. that once you lose his trust it takes a while to get it back. I would like to see Gratko stay

I'm sure Kirby will go somewhere, star for a team, make the tournament, and we'll wonder what the heck went wrong.
Anyway, best of luck to Maurice. I was really happy with his play this year and wished we would have used and developed him more.

I think star may be a bit much, Kirby definitely improved on the boards this year, but was limited in what he could do on offense which certainly affected his playing time.

Interesting. Looks like a pretty solid do it all point, his scoring numbers aren't too crazy, but his fg% is solid and he ranks 14th in JUCO for assists and 18th in steals. Rebounds well for a guard... His assist to turnover ratio is good to see.

Okay , so is this the guy? and his move to get a guard as opposed to some height makes me wonder. Is he not happy with the play of Custer..? It would seem that you have 5 returning guards next year in Custer, Richardson,Smith,Satterwhite and Skokna with Townes coming in for 6. A young freshman point guard would make sense. who needs time to develop.....So what does this all mean? and I forgot about Matt Chastin who will be returning and is listed as a guard. I guess you could play a 3 guard system with Custer and Lundy at the point, Richardson and Chastin sharing the off guard and Satterwhite and Skokna as small 3s. But that leaves you thin at the 4 and 5....Coach has always favored guards but I just dont see us getting by ISU and WS with a small lineup....they beat us because they were just so dominate physically,

Part of it is likely class balancing.

At the start of next season we will only have two juniors (both redshirts) on the roster in Custer and Townes. Guard wise next year the team will graduate- Richardson, Smith, and Custer could potentially if he chooses to graduate.

That would leave you with Townes, Skokna, and Satterwhite as your only returning guards going into 18-19... Adding a JUCO guard adds veteran leadership to a team that will likely be filled with 3/4 young guards.

Also an interesting thought... assuming Krutwig and Negron develop as expected, we could be in the weird situation where we don't have to worry about finding a starting big man almost every recruiting cycle.

I'm wondering if Lundy is a solid defensive guard that can help relieve Richardson. I think it takes the longest for a freshman to develop the defensive side of his game. Satterwhite is getting there, but it took Richardson almost a full 2 years to be a real lock-down defender. I think of Skokna, Custer, Smith and Townes as offense first guys. Chastain is more of a swing player than a true guard. A good perimeter defender might help the team more than we think right now. And as Blers pointed out, this could help with balanced classes.
