There is most certainly a third candidate.

I always thought in the back of my mind that Susan Malisch (with Kelly's connivance) might pull a Dick Cheney and, voila, the search committee member becomes the candidate.LU 86 wrote:There is most certainly a third candidate.
But I'm finding that this is a fluid situation which (literally) is changing from minute to minute, so I best just shut up.

Ummmmm.....the same could be said for members of our current staff.....swellafelon wrote:If I may indulge in some additional psychoanalysis of the two female search committee members, I can't see them being overly thrilled with Hartzell taking as his bride somebody who was formerly a student-athlete under his administration. I don't imagine her cheesecake posters are a big hit, either.

Not clear if you're saying that current LU staff members don't like the Jill George cheesecake posters, or that there a cheesecake posters of current LU staff members.
If the later, please post, like you so kindly did with Tom Kelly.

No cheesecake posters that I know of. All I'm saying is that those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.swellafelon wrote:Not clear if you're saying that current LU staff members don't like the Jill George cheesecake posters, or that there a cheesecake posters of current LU staff members.

Fr. Daffron was the resident Jesuit in the dorm I lived in freshman year. He is a really nice guy and I know he is involved in some first year experience events on campus. It seems a little weird to me that he is involved in the committee for the AD but I do not know much about these type of searches.swellafelon wrote: Don't know anything about Fr. I don't mean to diminish his accomplishments, but anybody who works at Loyola and has a pulse is a vice president. The cafeteria crew alone has 127 veeps.

I think I found the "Third Candidate" LU86 mentions. Judging by his interview there's no wonder he made the cut:
