New Candidate for AD

Hartzell is certainly an experienced, "name" candidate. He was AD for 11 years at Bucknell before 8+ years at UNI. I sat next to him and had a lengthy conversation when UNI played at Loyola in December 2006. He asked a lot of questions about Loyola.

I have no idea precisely why he suddenly resigned at UNI in January 2008, although a local press account says it was "philosophical differences" with administration. See the article for some details...

Don't quote me on this, but from what I picked up on the UNI message board it might also have had something to do with the University's decision to drop baseball, which, in turn, might implicate "philosophical differences" regarding Title IX.

He certainly has a great name for coming up with nicknames!
