Great article, Go. I didn't know the exact number, but this quote says it all:

"According to an NCAA report released in August, expenses exceeded generated revenue in the past decade at all but 20 of 345 Division I schools reporting."

All of which were BCS Football-playing schools. So we're essentially going to throw out the entire model of college sports (revenue from football and basketball being used to help support non-revenue sports) because a few big money programs have been able to forge a pro-sports style revenue stream from football....

ISUblue's AD had this to say (which I think is spot on):

“When you consider a Texas, which is working with an (estimated) $185 million budget and Indiana State’s budget is right around $11.2 million, and we’re competing for the same national championship, and now they want more power than they’ve already got?”
