It’s quite simple:

28 games plus a 3 game MTE (total 31) OR
29 games plus a 2 game MTE (total 31) (LU in 23-24) OR
29 games with no MTE (total 29)

It appears we have not been scheduling the maximum number of games, recently 1 less. Last year we had 27 plus a 3 game MTE, it appears we could have played 28 plus the 3 game MTE. So, this year will we do 29 plus the 2 game MTE or do 28 plus the two game MTE? Would be curious to know why we leave one slot open?

So I see 6 games but likely 5 we have open or don’t know about.

Interesting scheduling with USF and FAU on neutral courts (assuming FAU actually is a go--nothing official yet). Would like to try to get one P5 school on the schedule, other than Creighton.

Gary Parrish's latest men's college basketball 25+1 lists FAU at #4 and Creighton at #9, so Loyola will face two of the top 10 in the first three weeks of the season.

Would love to have one guarantee game with a mid-to-lower P5 team, but time's a-wastin'. A lot of teams (especially at the higher ends of the spectrum) have released full schedules already. Every year we should try to get a mid to lower-end Big Ten, Big East or ACC team. Some good examples would be Minnesota, Nebraska, Butler, Georgetown, Notre Dame, Louisville, Syracuse, etc. We've had pretty good luck against some SEC teams (Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Vandy, etc.) in the past, too.

That sounds nice, but I guess I prefer the neutral site games that give us a better chance to win. I also think it's probably better to play weak teams at home, blow them out, and boost our metrics.

Agree with JCT. Assuming we have 4 openings, I propose the following. Note, a true road game at a power 5 prepared you for conference.

1. @ Minnesota (2 at Minnesota, 1 at Gentile)
2. @ Loyola Marymount/WCC school (home and home)
3. Home v.s. Detroit (guarantee game)
4. @ Northern Illinois/Western MI (home and home)

Would love to see a Power 5 at home even if you have to do 2 on the road.

Could we get an American team home and home? Temple? Tulane? I know we have USF and FL Atlantic but a solid home and home would be nice.

Cannot be long now...Northwestern came out with their non-con today. locally they will play NIU, Chicago St. and DP....Of interest they will have Dayton coming to town if you want to get an early look at the Flyers..They will also play Rhode Island but in a tournament.
Side note when we play New Orleans they will have Kaleb Wislon-Rouse on the squad and he is a Chicago kid who played at Prosser.
