NIL is gonna be interesting. Right now all these Donors got stars in their eyes and think they can buy championships. Fact is its hard to win an NCAA title and with the talent getting spread out, its gonna be harder. At some point these donors, most of whom are business men, are gonna want to see actual National Championships. Question is, will NIL calm down as donors decide that the big money is not worth it? How much pressure is this gonna out on the coaches to win with this bought talent?

Its gonna be interesting to play out. Loyola is trying with the NIL stuff, but the fact that we have not brought in any real stars shows we are behind the financial NIL curve.

Looks like we have a Bradley fan stalker who is commenting on every tweet re someone we contacted (including the two posted above) with an ongoing count of total players we have contacted. Real weird stuff. I usually don't toss around the overused "rent free" saying, but Coach Drew has a mansion in that guy's mind....rent free.

Saint Thomas is visiting Northern Colorado this weekend. I would have thought that valley teams would be interested but that doesn’t seem to be the case

Isiah Barnes to Tulsa?
St Thomas does not have much on video. I would think that Coach Valentine is fairly well-respected and thought of a player's coach. My guess is the way it ended does not play well.
Remember about half of the players that go into the portal don't play again.

One of our targets, Florida F Kowacie Reeves, is off to Georgia Tech. Think we had a Zoom 'visit' with him or something.

Drew has several big handicaps right now as a coach. He's young and has no track record. He has potential, but as a head coach he doesn't have a resume. You can flush 2 years ago because he inherited that team from Porter.

Kids today want the following things:

1. NIL
2. To go where they can win
3. Maximize their exposure
4. Increase their potential to play professionally.

Drew at this point has no track record on #2, 3, 4. I am also not sure what type of NIL we can offer.

These things ultimately make a difference. It's why we get on a lot of final 4 or 5 lists but never seal the deal with the 4 or 5 stars or the bigger transfer portal players.
