lmao no it will not. His legacy will be winning the banner and coaching the retired jerseys in the rafters. Step away from the ledge.Mudville21 wrote:I know these things take time, but I wish Porter would make up his mind. If he does go, LU will need to get a Coach and try to keep their players from transferring AND potential recruits on board. The longer this takes, more at risk our basketball program is to falling apart. If it falls apart, then Porter's legacy will be that he did not build anything sustainable and maybe it was a fluke.

Porter won us a CBI championship and nothing he does will ever take that away from him or this institution.

unless he leaves for depaul
Re: Class of 2021
Yeah 3 conference championships, a final four, sweet 16, CBI championship, NIT appearance, and two Arch Madness championships will not be overshadowed by anything he does at this point. At this point it’s a matter of whether Porter gets a bust, full statue, or court named after him depending on how much longer he stays

Always said I'll cheer for Porter wherever he goes (unless they play Loyola). But if he leaves for DePaul, I'll have some other thoughts.440Rambler wrote:unless he leaves for depaul

Re: Class of 2021
if porter leaves us for depaul i would be adamantly against a statue, a plaque or a court naming or anything of the sort. its literally the only line in the sand for me. i would root for depaul to lose every game, just as i do now.

Take Frank out of this equation, within a couple minutes of sending our always-smiling big man hit the portal. Not surprised, what a good kid. I believe the highest rated recruit Porter has ever gotten straight out of highschool?Dansen wrote:Wouldn’t be shocked if Knight started at the “5” or played significant time there either. I really like Hutson, will just see where he’s at. Bet it’s a competition between Hutty, Knight, and Frank.goramblers2011 wrote:Assuming all seniors leave and no more transfers (obviously unlikely), I'd expect the lineup to be:
Norris / Kennedy / Ryan Schweiger (or Damezi) / Chris Knight / Hutson
.
I might be wrong but Knight plays more like a big than an Uguak/Ingram forward if I remember .
Porter likes the 4 out, and maybe he’s adding it to his game but Knight is a career 20% shooter at Dartmouth. Albeit just 44 attempts in three years, 43 of those coming his sophomore and junior years

Another domino falls with Frank. Trying to stay positive as I guess Hebb is the only surprise. I think it is still possible Pax and Welch enter today (although I hope neither of them do).
Looks like Frank graduated in 3 years and is technically a grad transfer. Really impressive. Always positive and his teammates seemed to love him. It is a big shame that injuries really had an effect on his Loyola career.
Hopefully we hear something on the seniors and Porter by end of this week.

As things unfold, it would appear that Coach has had his player meetings, I am guessing that he is nothing but honest with them, seems to be his nature. So it would appear that there must have been news about who is returning and who is not , including himself. This is what I was concerned about with what I consider to be an ill advised rule (nothing new for the NCAA) allowing the extra covid year. But totally speculation on my part.
