Cooper in the transfer portal

Post by RamblerPup63 »

Saw on twitter that Cooper Kaifes has put his name in the transfer portal. Can't say I'm that surprised.

Hate to see it....I think his injury got him behind the 8 ball and there may not be a way to get back any more time than he had this year...I really wish him well. He had some of the hottest 3 pt streaks that first year.

Can't forget about this amazing moment from two years ago. Bummer that he got hurt when he did. Best of luck to Cooper, be it with the Ramblers or another team!

Yes, that shot at the Drake game was a great memory. I kind of like that someone is leaving, I'm worried about having too many players next year if any seniors come back.

As long as he leaves with fond memories of Loyola, I’ll have fond memories of him. We’ve all known it, but haven’t said it because I think we all love Cooper... but the injury tarnished what should have been a stellar 4 year career at Loyola. After freshmen year I was convinced we would see him hitting 4 threes a game (at least), and would be a major contributor for the next three years. Unfortunately, he seemed just a step slower this year, which didn’t make him bad... but the deep bench didn’t do him any favors, as far as keeping him part of the active cast.

I still think he has the ability to contribute, and I hope he gets a chance to shine (as long as it’s not SIU or another Valley school).

Losing guys like Kaifes makes me sad... but seeing him sit on the bench next year would make me sad as well. Good luck to him! I’ll definitely be a fan and watch for him, wherever he goes.

If I had to pick to others I think might go if Porter stays, it would be Frank and Welch. Those two would also make me sad, but i would understand. If Porter leaves, the guy I think might go is Kennedy. I really hope that’s not the case.

Best of luck to him. I remember we played Samford at the beginning of the Final Four year. If I remember right, their coach was former Kentucky player Scott Padgett. Don’t think he’s there anymore, though.
