Doesn't necessarily mean he wouldn't leave if the right job came open, but certainly well earned after his first few years.

The long extension is how a small school keeps a coach. If they fire him I'm sure the contract requires a payout. If he leaves then the school is off the hook. There are usually resets and school requirements about perks and fund raising. HC contracts are interesting agreements. They are usually more complicated at public schools, especially when the state caps their employees salaries and nepotism laws.

Wojo departs Marquette

Can't say it's a surprise, especially after the Hauser brothers left simultaneously

Marquette is the one that worries me. I didn't think they would let Woj go....but uh oh....they did. Great Program.....deep pockets....and possibly commuting distance for Porter. I'm still optimistic that Porter is going to want to keep it going here....but this one worries me.

No comparison between the Marquette and Depaul jobs. Not even close.

I'll ad another one to the list: Jesuit school.

Marquette has been one of the two schools I thought would be most attractive (Creighton is the other). I think this will be the offseason that Porter leaves or decides to stay for the long haul.

If Porter left for DP or MQ I would be devastated....those used to be THEE 2 games of the year....Maybe the Jesuits will step in....Where did Biden go to school...the Day of the Inauguration attended mass with a Jesuit and the mass was conducted by a Jesuit.

Can't trust those Jesuits. You're known by the company you keep.
Let's go Braden!

If nothing else, the Marquette opening should put any DePaul rumors to bed. I have no idea why anyone would go to fucking DePaul given that choice.
