Re: Porter Moser Contract Talks
Nice DI article !! There is one problem though--He says good things re Wichita St !! The rest is fine BUT he forgets that the threat of taint hangs over Shockers--Did they pay players ??
Too bad but LUC is NOTHING like WSU--and PORTER is NOTHING at all like Marshall
PORTER STAYS I feel=-- BUT MOSER is truly in the drivers seat

Travis Steele to Xavier.
There are no better jobs out there now.... really good chance Porter is back next year!

Re: Porter Moser Contract Talks
Rumor is that Porter declined a full interview after the Xavier AD was offering lower than Mack was making last year. I agree -- great chance we keep him and this momentum next year!!!
Re: Porter Moser Contract Talks
Wasn't sure where to put this:
Good interview on the Dan Patrick show with Clayton today, talking about Final
Four and next year. Sounds like he's committed to coming back. The interesting part to me was when asked about Moser, he talked about trying to convince Coach to stay at Loyola, understands the business but wants him to come back. Really solid interview

Re: Porter Moser Contract Talks
Porter skirted the issue with Mully and Hanley this morning as well, stating that he was going to sit down talk with his family, but he loves the city of Chicago. I don’t think you can really put much stock in anything though, because he can’t just say that he’s going to come back until his new contract is negotiated, otherwise he loses leverage, and as far as I know they haven’t offered him anything yet I think we we will just have to wait a few weeks until the dust settles

Ledo is correct I believe !! My truly ONLY real problem is LUC most ALWAYS delays and delays announcements--EG We are almost ALWAYS last in publishing our HOOPS Scheds !! WHY must PORTER and the rest of us wait WEEKS ??? Get the man signed NOW !!!

I agree, brot. Every day that goes by without news of an extension will make me more nervous.

Re: Porter Moser Contract Talks
I saw that Porter was on with Dan Patrick today. I heard a snippet of the interview, and he talked about being happy where he is, and made a reference to Gonzaga. Of Big your note to me, however, but was he said “I’m happy and I’m hoping this moves in the right direction.” He also said he had breakfast with Steve Watson this morning. I can’t help but thinking that quote means that he is hoping the Loyola is going to pay him some serious money to stay.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the highest paid coach in the MVC right now is making $900,000, correct? Obviously if Porter is staying we have to at least get Him in the 1
Million dollar range, right ?

Re: Porter Moser Contract Talks
I think we should go right to $1m as a starting point and negotiate from there. He is going to be a hot commodity. Need to make him the highest paid coach in conference at least. And give him more money for recruiting, charter jets to away games, assistant coaches, etc.
