I thought that we had a total of four spots open for the 2015-2016 season.
Let's go Braden!

Maybe Porter can convince O'Mara to walk-on.

Right, but we are talking about the 2014-2015 season here.

Maybe we can convince him to try out for the male-practice player position with the women's team.

My gut feeling is Jay is not coming. Both Rivals and Verbal Commits do not have him as coming. I would hope we would not hold a scholarship for Sean. He is too good not to wait for a decision.

Interesting. Verbals from Jay Knuth and Ben Richardson would fill our two open scholarships for next season. Ben is rated 3-stars by Rivals.

I guess it's so-long, Sean?
This is kind of disappointing. I'm sure Richardson and Knuth have the potential to be decent players at Loyola, but I really wanted us to have a center/power forward like O'Mara for the next four years. He style of play is very similar to Averkamp's, except O'Mara seems slightly more athletic. Also, his commitment to Loyola could have had a more positive impact on our ability to recruit higher level players than getting a commitment from Knuth and Richardson.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that this works out for the best.

That would be news to Jay. See this Twitter exchange between him and Ben:

I was going to post the same thing, but was saved from coming in an embarrassing third by the message board, which alerts you that a new message has been posted on the thread after you've started composing yours, and encourages you to review the new message before posting.

12, good line about O'mara being a male practice player.

... so does this mean we are out of the running for Sean O'mara or is it common to make more offers that spots available ... does anyone know how this works?
