Since we’re officially done with the conference regular season, and with a few days to kill, I thought maybe this would be a good time for final predictions on MVC awards.
IMHO, there are two that should be no brainers:
Larry Bird Player of the Year: Other teams might hate this, but there is zero doubt that Loyola should have a player put this in the trophy case for the third time in four years. Krut is the leader on the best team, and statistically one of the best players in MVC history.
Defensive player of the year: Honestly, this guy should be on his second or third award in this category. Underrated, but never under-appreciated here: Lucas Williamson. Just not enough words to describe the glue guy that he is, and only appropriate that he tops off his career (maybe?) by leading the best defense in college basketball.
Conference Awards
Re: Conference Awards
I always see other teams complaining about how long Krutwig has been around, as though he's had red shirts or waivers. He's been around for only four years, but he's never won a conference award. Maybe if you give him the freakin' POTY, he'll go away.

Re: Conference Awards
I THINK Krut wins the POTY award but that's arguable. IMO, there is no way you can have one of the statistically best defensive teams in the country and not give the award to its best defensive player. Lucas has got to be the man.

I found these tweets from the Indiana State beat writer interesting from a process standpoint.
