I have been around for over 88 years !! I have NEVER seen the Media and NOW the Blackhawks and BULLS get on the Bandwagon as have these folks--Maybe Cuba and White Sox will join in as well !!--Absolutely THRILLING !!! THIS is what Chicago is really all about--not the other stuff !!
I am proud to be a Chicagoan--Always was and always will be. I sit here in AKRON-CLEVELAND loving it BUT it is NOT home.

Our RAMBLERS are now one of the 16 best in College Hoops !! HOW SWEET IT IS !! WE RAMBLER fans know it--NOW CHICAGO does !!

Grad !! Normally I do NOT name drop but on this happy occasion I shall--Bob Newhart and I went to St Catherine of Siena OAK PARK together--

---Our respective MOMS were close friends
---Bob's Sister Pauline was my very first girl friend--I was ten she was eight !!!!
---Bob went to St Ignatius HS--I went to Campion HS
---Back together at LUC !!
---As kids we played BB in Finn's lot across Austin Bd from Church--Bob as I recall was at 3b and I was 2b--We always on Sat Morning asked Monsignor to let Fr Riordon come out and play--HE COULD HIT !!
---Bob became an accountant --then you know the rest !! plus Jeannie
---Me ?? US Steel serving the US Dept of Defense--plus MY Dolores and kids

And here we are RAMBLER FANS all this time !!!!

What a marvelous moment in time for me !!!

Still basking in Rambler Glow. Walking up and down Sheridan Road, trying to catch the eye of one of the many television reporters. No luck. They are all trying to track down Sister Jean. And she moves pretty fast.

Any comment from Bob Newhart on Loyola's success? I haven't seen anything.

What a funny man! He wasn't crazy about his accounting career. His personal motto "Close enough!" didn't cut it.

There was an obituary in Sunday's Trib for Sister Joan Newhart, BVM, Bob Newhart's sister. Interestingly, it lists him as "George Robert (Bob) Newhart".
