Upon reading her accolades on the LUC site, I was curious to see how she played. She looks like a decent player based on her recruiting video she put together a few years ago.

I was also curious why she didn't commit until recently. Upon further review, NC State announced her as a new commit in mid-November, just a couple of weeks before they announced their head coach had stepped down for other professional endeavors. Their loss is our gain.

Spieker was also All-National in 2015.
To offer clarification on what the JVA is, the JVA is an independent association. USAV (USA Volleyball) sanctions junior clubs and their teams. Many of these clubs have additionally chosen to be members of the JVA which offers member benefits and hosts its own events.

This is good news. The MVC is a very good conference for women's volleyball, a big step up from the Horizon, and we're going to need more players like this to compete. We've only qualified for the conference final (top six teams) once, and that was last year (just barely, as the 6th seed).
