This season has tanked Drew's winning percentage. It's still one of the best in team history. 6th in team history. Porter, Sullivan and Valentine are 4, 5 and 6th. Valentine is just ahead of Ireland. Historically, he is one of our best coaches. It is a mistake to discount his first year following Porter. He kept that team together and won without Cam Krutwig. It is difficult to run it back. The first season in the A10 should be discounted because of the mass graduation of players and the new league. He had to rebuild. Seasons 24 and 25 were more of what we should expect. This year is a disaster. However, in retrospect, we can not underestimate the impact of losing Edwards, Dawson and Quinn.

It's not like coaches are going to be parachuting into Gentile to get this job.

Let's see what he does.

Sure they will. It's one of the better jobs in the A10 based on resources.

This offseason is probably a complete roster rebuild. With the way Drew has struggled with, by today’s standards, pretty moderate roster turnover, we should expect next years team to be just as bad, probably worse.

If you go to any of the other A10 social media, they all think Drew getting fired is a no-brainer.

It’s time to move on, kicking the can for a year is pointless and is just going to sink our brand even more.

Whoever coaches after this season, even if not Drew and instead someone (like a Schertz) who brings dedicated players along from his prior team, will face an uphill battle to put a competitive team out on the court. It's not like the kids being recruited can't notice the losing record of the Ramblers this season.

I disagree. There's no excuse to not be competitive. We play a schedule like we played this year, we should be 10-3 or whatever in the noncon, and we should be middle of the pack in the A10 at worst. We sure as shit shouldn't be losing multiple games by 20+ points.

And there's talent if you keep Rubin, Amos, Dotson, Glaskov, etc.

Not competitive in the sense of actually competing. We must always be competing. Competitive in standings. I wasn't clear. But as for next year, I can safely say I have deep concerns for everything men's Ramblers basketball.

Ramblermaniacs, two ways this goes. 1. Only up 2. flatline and stay here at the bottom. But I've seen this movie before, and Loyola is very capable of staying bad for a long time. I'm at the point of why fire anybody? It will not matter with this new NIL & portal in collegiate sports. Either spend 25 to 30 million on a top team, or nothing until you have that type of budget after seeing this season.

I can’t believe some here are actually saying they should bring Drew back. This is legitimately one of the worst D1 basketball teams in America. Do you think the donors who funded this roster, facilities upgrades etc. are cool with this? Zero chance.

It literally cannot get any worse. For almost a decade, men’s basketball has been the front door to the university. It is a complete afterthought right now and virtually all program momentum and goodwill has been lost.

Right there with you now.

To further justify this, we've taken a massive dump in the KenPom dropping from #99 to #311 within the same season and this is corresponding in all the other metrics and rankings out there.

Does AD look at this like we are?

NO, the AD, most likely - will blame injuries. Ramblermaniacs, this season is "Loyola's culture". Our team winning basketball games these past seven of nine years is an anomaly. LU is not a "fire that guy" type of institution. During the 90s, I have been the only student fan at home games. Loyola probably does not want to go back to the entire student body having zero interest in attending games, therefore, will see how much they will spend on players & how much losing this admin will tolerate over the next few years.
