Evansville also got demolished by Belmont to the tune of 81-43, but hey, at least Belmont is joining the conference soon enough, right??

Tucker DeVries dropped 14 points in his first game. Feels like he's going to be a major PITA for the next four years:

We'll call that a draw. :D

Interested to see the Drake score today. First real challenge that isn’t a D3 game. I didn’t watch at all, but I would have expected a score more similar to ours when we played Coppin State, Coe college had hung around.

There won’t be many off nights in the valley, but early observations point to a race between us and Drake again.

Drake obliterated South Dakota by 49 points (99-50). South Dakota is probably a middle of the pack type team in the Summit so a win by this margin is impressive.

Like us, Drake has multiple guys who can be "the guy" on any given night. They had four guys in double digits today and shot 12-24 from 3. They have some good opportunities coming up against Richmond and then Belmont in the first round of their MTE. If they get by the Bruins, they'd likely be playing Alabama. Top half of the bracket has Kansas who is a national title contender.

Not sure where to put this so I’ll put it here. AP poll came out today. We received 1 vote, Drake got 3, and Michigan State (future opponent) got 18 votes.

Unfortunately, only one person voted for Drake. That vote was from David Jablonski, Dayton Daily News, who had the Bulldogs at #23

My mistake! The AP News website must have it wrong then. Either way, not surprising, but it's still encouraging to have 2 teams in the Valley receiving votes at this point.

It's kind of confusing. The AP says they received 3 votes, but they really mean they received 3 points. They allocate points from 1st place = 25 points, 2nd place = 24 points, etc. until 25th place = 1 point. In this case, Drake got a 23rd place vote so they got 3 points from being on one ballot.

Drake plays Richmond at home this Saturday and then goes to the ESPN Events Invitational which has two ranked teams so they should get a lot of attention soon if they can keep winning.

UNI playing tough on the road @ #16 Arkansas. Down 45-53 with 17:30 left in the 2h. AJ Green has been pretty brutal shooting 2-10. He is far from the AJ of two seasons ago. Heise has been UNI's best player.
