Speculating, but wouldn't be shocked if Pickett isn't around any longer. I'd heard a couple months ago that it was unlikely at best he'd be back next year, and not surprising if he didn't make it to second semester.

Is that because:
    He was having issues academically
He was unhappy with playing time and wanted out
He was homesick and wanted to go home
    Some other issue

Ugh. Whatever it is, that sucks. I wish him the best.

Selfishly, it also leaves us with just 10 scholarship players (again). Just nine healthy currently. We need a backup point guard badly. And, changing gears, we need Osborne to step up. His summer was all positive, but his season has been a disaster.

On the bright side, at least O'Leary has made strides this year. If I had to pick which of the two would have the better year, I would have picked Osborne because of his build.

Best zone breaker is Cody at the top of the key. He drained some in the Missouri State game from there and it opened up things. Its hard to stop a 6'10" player from that shot. Campbell of Butler used to do it for them and it really opens up drives to the hoops.

I agree, it's a nice option when he's out there. Not to mention it is tough to rebound out of a zone - a 6'10'' center should be licking his chops thinking about offensive boards. Granted Thomas played 38 minutes, but he had 5 off. rebounds and he's what, a tall 6'3''? LU went small seemingly to match up with SIU and that takes away what should be an advantage on the offensive glass.
