interesting stat. I think you have set the bench mark, we need to score 70
1. Easier to play good defense every night than good offense every night...on offense some nights you dont shoot well and the other team plays well defensively
2. We have a hard time scoring 70 points which I think is accurate. and which makes turnovers so important as we need as many shots as we can get.
Makes me wonder what our best offensive lineup is?
That is a really interesting stat from Fleet Wolf 1, especially in the KenPom world, where all these stats are tough for me to understand. Playing solid defense and not turning the ball over is easy to understand. If indeed LUC wants to hold opponents under 70, they need to become more patient on offense and take better shots which will slow the game down. On the defensive end, playing a more traditional man-to-man, less switching, especially with guard-to-forward, and some half-court zone which will also slow the pace of the game down. Not doing those things will speed the game up for both teams and reduce the chances of a lower-scoring game, which apparently is to Loyola’s benefit. Finally, you can’t play guys who turn the ball over in a low-scoring offensive system. This would be a big switch for Drew, interesting to see what he does this afternoon and beyond.
