There are also many provisions regarding keeping teams as close to their “areas of natural interest” as possible. I don’t believe we will get shipped across he country unless the committee has no other option.
Since we have not been in the tournament we will not have any restrictions on who we can or can’t play, so I hold it hope that we will be placed as near to Chicago as possible.

Areas of local interest relates to the region not the first/second round site. Our region is the midwest region (Omaha regional). But the midwest region plays first round games in Boise, Nashville, and Wichita. The EAST region has games in SAN DIEGO! Being in the midwest they should not move us more than one region away. However one region away could be any of the other three. So bottom line the Ramblers can go almost anywhere as a #11. Still hoping for SD or Dallas.

Vermont loses in conference tournament championship after going 15-1 and 27-7 overall. According to logic being applied to LU are they out of the NCAA?

Unfortunately, yes. They are an NIT team.

Middle Tennessee, Vermont and Louisiana all dominate their regular season conference play. Then get upset in conference tournament. Vermont and Louisiana will be headed to the NIT. MTSU will be sweating for a bid tomorrow. Sad because Vermont and Louisiana went a combined 31-3 in conference play and both could have pulled an upset or two.

16 teams have to play in Boise or San Diego. Only 11 MTZ/PTZ teams will be in the tournament. And not all of them can play each other unless the seeds line up.

So not anything the committee can do. 5-8 teams will be sent out west and they’ll most certainly be in the 5-12/4-13 pods, as Arizona and Gonzaga seem unlikely to grab above a 4-seed.

Iona and Rhode Island had to play in Sacramento last year.

The speculation ends in a few short hours. One last update:

CBS/Jerry Palm has us as a 11 seed facing Arkansas (https://www.cbssports.com/college-baske ... cketology/)

BDBP has us as a 12 seed facing Houston (https://nicktursisbestbracketperiod.weebly.com/)

ESPN/Joe Lunardi has us as a 11 seed facing TCU (http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket ... acketology)

Hardwood and Hollywood has us as 11 seed facing Ohio State (http://www.hardwoodandhollywood.com/wp- ... 404738.jpg)

Bracket WAG has us as a 11 seed facing Miami (http://www.bracketwag.com/)

Bracketville (ranked the most accurate bracketologist) has us as a 11 seed facing Arkansas (https://bracketville.wordpress.com/bracketology/)

My projection: 11 seed vs Arkansas in Dallas.

I would take that and be very happy. Would like to avoid Houston and TCU. Feel better about Ohio State. Kind of like the matchup with Texas A&M, Kentucky, and Seton Hall.

We should be a 10 or better !!

Funny thing though--We will win our game whomever we play !!
