I have it on good authority that Bruno's is being remodeled during the shutdown.
This is tragic.

Hamilton's was never the same after transitioning from dive bar to sports bar to fern bar featuring 100 different bottled craft beers instead of Pabst on tap at 3 bucks a pitcher.
And now Bruno's is apparently starting down the same path.
I blame Millennials for this abomination.

Hopefully "remodeling" just means some better lights in the liquor store side and a new bathroom door.

They need to at least replace the broken, spongy pieces of plywood that make up the flooring in the back near the restrooms. If you want to look down on that and call that "remodeling," fine. I've always thought the hazardous flooring, gaps in the boards, and places where it looks like people could fall through the floor to an unknown, unspeakably horrific death in their basement was partly responsible for Loyola's history of low men's basketball attendance.

No offense to Bruno's ownership, but how much money in this economy could they realistically spend to upgrade the place? It's not like the place was raking in money before.

I'm thinking they're assuming no golf outing this year, so they are investing whatever they would bid to be in Porter's foursome!

You don't want to dig too deep into Bruno's ownership....

BigJoe just settled his tab, so they have at least 100k to spend. (Assuming his check clears.)
