Maybe I haven't been keeping up, but that shocked me.A fourth of the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities currently have lay presidents
What is most surprising is that Loyola has been billing itself simply as the largest Jesuit university and it obviously isn't. As for the article, I thought it was very weak. It seemed to imply that Jesuit education was defined in 1599 and is only now rebranding itself. It gave readers no clear idea of what Jesuit education or even what Catholic education is, and it garbled the whole debate about Catholic identity.swellafelon wrote:One interesting fact I picked up from the article is that we are still the largest Jesuit college in terms of undergraduate enrollment, but Georgetown has a larger total enrollment.

They aren't wrong for saying it like that. It's like movies. They say that "The Interview is the #1 movie in America!" What they really mean is that it is the #1 movie in America in the VOD section. They aren't incorrect for saying they are #1...they just aren't being completely forthcoming in WHERE they are #1.Scream wrote:What is most surprising is that Loyola has been billing itself simply as the largest Jesuit university and it obviously isn't.
