Fire Moser chants

The Oklahoma crowd started chanting 'Fire Moser" after OU lost another lead in what has been a tough season. They have a new AD coming in who used to be at Uof I (wonder if there isnt some payback for the thrashing LU gave U of I) so it seems the heat is really been turned up on Porter. I know there are a lot of mixed feeling about Coach Moser ranging from " He is a traitor" to " Bring him back"...Just my thought...if you ever met the guy it is hard not to like him...pretty genuine guy.

You don't want to see what OU fans post about him after every loss on "X"

OU was never a good fit from the get-go. Porter belongs at a basketball-centric school. These types of coaching gigs almost never work out when going from bball school to a P5 football funded school.

No doubt he gets fired in March. This upcoming coaching carousel will be interesting. I can't wait.

Agree with not a good fit, and basketball school duly noted. I think his destiny was more of a Big East. Sure, he has stints at public programs but having spent substantial time with Benet/Creighton, SLU and Loyola, a landing spot in a Big East (like) conf carries a bit more weight IMHO.

Also, tagging on to some thoughts by others on this board that Porter coming back here would be a good thing. Maybe, but with the seismic shift forced on D1 college basketball from the NIL/portal, who really knows.

To me it's worth a shot, because if Porter returns I imagine he's staying put. I'm not necessarily concerned about NIL/portal -- Drew got the biggest budget and highest-rated talent pool in program history and F'd it up royally. Give those resources to Porter and see how he does in a conference like the A10 -- I think we'd be running the place soon enough, just like he did in the MVC. The "cinderella Loyola" narrative reignites right before it was about to fade, and the whole Drew era just gets remembered as an unpleasant bump in the road.

The next best-case alternative is an up-and-comer who bolts immediately after the first tourney appearance (and that's the optimistic outcome).

I don't think getting Moser back is the ultimate solution, but he is a known entity to us and we'd know what we SHOULD expect....I'd love to see a return to stifling defense and his approach to recruiting is something that Drew kept doing and has served us relatively well.

The interesting part of getting a new coach is to find someone we can afford who was winning this year....much like SLU taking in a handful of high caliber players from Indiana State. I don't know there is much we'd want from Oklahoma other than Custer.

Here is the thing, he knew this was going to be the end result at OU, for word on the street is he consulted with the elders. This exact scenario was relayed, but money is a big lure. Well, can't fault a guy to set his family up for almost ever. As for coming back, doubt it, do you want to ruin another guy's life to have a legacy and job? Will see. All of this would be solved if these current Ramblers hustled and played defense. All you have to do to win in D1 mid major hoops is get every guy to play D, hard, and get lucky.
