Starting to think this is some MVC conspiracy against us!
In all seriousness, the Birds just played yesterday @Valpo. I am guessing it's only a matter of time until Valpo goes on pause now. It'll be a whole month without a game for Loyola (assuming we can't get any kind of fill-in this week). This is shaping up to be worse than last year.
I hope we hitting the phone lines hard trying to find a good replacement. We need to play...and if we can get a Q1 win out of it, that'd be fantastic. DePaul and Vandy have both dropped some games and neither is a Q1 win anymore (DePaul resorting to their Big East mishaps).

What would happen if we can only play half of our conference games? Would we have a chance to make the tournament?

Still frustrated with lack of information…ISR has determined they cannot play the game?
Is the data validated AND what is the data,,
I.e. number of positives, number of players that could be available…..

Right. Less than 8 I guess... even though they played yesterday?

If the MVC doesn’t reshuffle to give us a game on Wednesday, maybe our soon-to-be new home will have an opportunity.

Is there anyone in-the-know on how these games are actually cancelled because of positive COVID tests?
Is it merely a coach calling the MVC office and telling them, "Hey, we don't have 8 players because of COVID," and the league then cancels the game? Do you have to verify the amount of COVID positives in any way, or is it an honor system, "we'll take your word for it," type of thing?
I would hope that COVID testing isn't being used to avoid games, and I just want to know what the actual protocols are.
Regardless, as soon as we began our COVID pause it became obvious to me that a ton of games were going to end up getting cancelled, and every night i look and it's always a ton of games. What is blowing my mind is that, unlike last year, nobody seems to be talking a lot about the staggering number of games that continue to be cancelled each night. Even more odd is that nobody seems to be talking about what the NCAA is going to do in the immediate future, and more importantly, in March to try and play the tournament.

As I stated before: "This is bullshit." Either play the game or hit the team opting out with a forfeit.
I wonder if Doug Elgin would have stood for this.

Great opportunity for us Thursday afternoon against San Francisco on a neutral court! Not that I'm getting too excited just yet.
