Improved MTE overall. Although only one P-5 team (and Wazzu may be the worst team in this tourney), Old Dominion and New Mexico State are two high-level mid-major teams in the tourney this year.
The other teams are in solid high mid-major conferences (MWC, A-10 and AAC).
Would really like another P-5 added as the TBA. Some available teams that would be a good fit (ignoring teams like Louisville and Kentucky): NC State, Notre Dame, DePaul, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, Arkansas.

Spoke it into reality--Nebrask will be the 8th team participating in the Cayman Islands tournament. Winnable P5 game with Hoiberg in first year as head coach.

the kind of victories the Valley needs if it is going to get a 2nd tourney bid.......tournaments, conference crossovers maybe the way as oppossed to trying to get a P5 for a home and home.........by the way does the Valley have a crossover with the Mountain West anymore?
as a side thought...I would not mind a schedule similar to last years....we had some chances last year just did not take advantage.

The MVC-MWC challenge did end this past year. No word yet if we’ll match up with another conference.

The Mountain West has paired up with the A-10 for the next few years.

Add a game at home against Davidson this year, and a return game to Davidson next year. They finished 2nd in the A10 last year. Should be a good matchup.

Is it against NCAA rules for a coach to come out and say publicly, “I’ve tried to work out a deal with Northwestern/DePaul and they are not willing to agree to the terms “________.” With our success, and the respect we have earned as a program, I don’t see any reason why we can’t get some type of reasonable deal done with either of those schools. I think the local media would probably have the same opinion. I would like to see it gotten out there publicly so everyone in Chicago knows Loyola wants these games and it’s not our fault they aren’t happening. I especially want recruits to know these schools are afraid of us and see us as a loss threat on their records.
Obviously trying to work with them on a deal is going nowhere, so maybe some media can pressure would help. At this point I don’t see how it could hurt.

Nice get. Like these kinds of matchups--should target more A-10/AAC/MWC squads.

This is geared more towards the 20-21 schedule, but didn’t someone (Streak?) in another thread throw out Atlantis as being on our radar for a 2020 Tournament? ...
If we are “TBD”, that would be an incredible get.
