Good job by the softball team. Keep up the good work. I'd love to give the HL something to remember us by...

Today Loyola is playing a double header at home against Wright State, while UIC is playing Cleveland State at home in a doubleheader. If Loyola can win 2 of 3 against WSU, and UIC goes 1-2 against Cleveland State in the three games this weekend, Loyola wins the HL softball title outright. Right now, Loyola is winning game 1 3-2, and Cleveland State is beating UIC 7-1.

Loyola and UIC both split doubleheaders today. So there's a tie at the top of the softball standings at 15-5. Since UIC owns the tiebreaker, Loyola will have to win and depend on a UIC loss tomorrow against Cleveland State to decide HL softball regular season crown.

Loyola and UIC both won on the final day of the regular season to finish the conference 16-5. UIC wins the regular season softball championship on the basis of the tiebreaker (winning 2 of 3 head-to-head against Loyola, which was at UIC). Not sure if Loyola gets any points toward the McCafferty Trophy race by virtue of a tied conference record.... Loyola could get points by winning the conference championship, which begins May 8 at UIC.
