Everyone involved in tonight's game on our end should be ashamed

So much potential to be a really good team this year, and we just handed it away.

In his freshman year at UIndy, Tate Hall shot 84% at the FT line. In his sophomore year, he shot 73%. This year, I think he finished under 60%. How is that type of regression possible? Not to mention, he disappears in certain games (3 points today).

Krut got bullied downlow by Kiser. Couldn't get open, couldn't finish.

Aher...well, don't even get me started on Aher's offensive game. I remember one easy putback opportunity he had today that he absolutely launched over the rim. No composure and no control over his body.

Hope Porter sold a lot of books though.

Porter didn't choke. The players did. Even Clemons, who had a great game, missed a couple of freebies late in the game. Hall made a nice drive and missed the layup. Krut missed a couple of layups. Krut, Aher, and Hall missed point black put backs. Imho, we need some players with character.
If free throw shooting and finishing at the rim were graded and included in the GPA, the team would have an average GPA closer to 2.5 rather than 3.5.
Time to get out of the study hall and into the gym to practice free throws.

No seniors on the team (I love Bruno, but he didn’t really factor in), isn’t a small thing in March. Desperation to not want your basketball life to end can’t be underrated, and that’s a feeling these kids just didn’t have yet. That won’t be the case next year, and I hope that hunger builds.

Our two leaders, Lucas and Krut, totally botched the inbounds play with 4 seconds left, too. That was stunning. Lucky we didn't lose in regulation after that.

That's kind of stunning.

14-27?? Porter was suppose to shoot free throws from them?

One of the assistants should know the foul situation (one to give) and remind the coach and players.

But the loss is on the players. 14-27, not to mention on the one and one the miss is also a lost future opportunity.

Oh well, lets not forget we won more than 20 three straight seasons. Our expectations are higher now and that is what leads to massive disappointment as well. However, for so many years, we had no hope and no expectations and were terrible.

On to the summer to lick our wounds and wait for the next season.

A week from now I think most will agree with this. Losing on Friday is just tough to swallow right now.
