OU fans seem fed up with Porter. Their blue-chip frosh recruit entered the portal.

Seems like a make or break year for him.

Has to be. Three years, no tournament. Not going to be easy to win in a new conference., either.

Porter has, with the exception of Cam, never really played Freshman a lot. Lucas only got a chance after Ben Richardson broke his hand. The article highlights the lack of playing time. In this day and age of NIL and the portal, not many kids will stick with you if they are not playing, especially 4 star kids with big expectations. It's a brave new world.

He did get a commitment from Kobe Elvis, but I wasn't impressed with him when Dayton came to LU.

This will not be ending well in March 2025

Moving to the SEC will help him keep his job. The teams at the top are equally as good as the Big 12, but the Big 12 was more difficult from top to bottom. There will be some easier Ws in the SEC. He has lost some players, but he is bringing in some veteran players. My guess is that he will make it through another season. I think they would have fired him if they thought he would not do better next year.

agreed. On paper, OU looks very bad. Too many unknowns and transfers in from small programs who all can't possibly be expected to even match their prior production in a P5 conference.

I just do not see OU competing with.....

- Arkansas
- Kentucky
- Tennessee
- Alabama
- Auburn
- Florida
- South Carolina

^^^^^

This puts Oklahoma in a tough spot once again..... They'll continue to be the #7 to #10 team in their conference. Maybe .500 win %, and on a road to nowhere.

Also take into consideration the middle tier teams like LSU, A&M, MissST will also be around that .500 win% too, and neither of them can continue to afford poor(er) seasons and miss tourneys.

Porter’s program is getting a new arena (assuming he is still around when this project is done):

Oklahoma 13-0 so far.

Buy or sell ?

Jeremiah Fears (freshman phenom) is very good. Don't know who at OU was responsible for bringing him in. Could be OU's year for once but of the 13 wins, 9 were against cupcakes (awful teams) and 4 W's against Michigan, Arizona, Louisville, Providence. (Lou, Prov, AZ not great either this year).
