Just for the record, if we lose Chastain to Utah mainly on Religion, I would say Godspeed ! I traveled to and worked SLC and environs--Hill AFB and some high security desert bases in the area , and truly was dealt with honestly AND fairly. I was made to be and was completely comfortable out there. Just fine people for sure. To me, I felt that they set great store in HONESTY . BTW I voted for Romney--did not agree too much with him BUT I did trust him--but that was about it.
Let5 us hope we get this kid, however.

In valleyfan's defense, I could definitely see how Utah would fit in if Matt was Mormon. I know for a lot (but not all) Mormons going off to college, fitting into campus social life plays a huge role in selecting schools. Jabari Parker's campus visits all had a stop at either the local temple or the Mormon student group.
The Purdue connection is kind of interesting. Just to point out though, Kendall Stephens committed to purdue early largely because his father played there. He's now on the transfer list

Ugh, probably will be a bit before we hear a commitment decision from him them. We're gonna need a new recruitment darling to fawn over for the next two weeks.

Long trip to Salt Lake City.... Chicago, and the Valley, would allow family and friends to witness many more games in person. I still think having won an IHSA title and his recognition as an all state player could bet be built upon in Chicago. Larger potential media coverage, especially as we will be competitive in the Valley. Just how I see it. Hope Mr Chastain sees it the same way...
