UNI started in a 5 out...and LU almost always switches on perimeter screens. that allowed them to get one of their quick gaurds defended by Knight. They scored on two drives against him and then when he backed off a little they nailed the 3. LU substituted Schweiger in for Knight at 15"30 ish (this is where not having Marquis hurt...we could have matched their 5 small lineup with Marquis) and having Knight out is kind of a domino effect. Norris gets most of his 3 looks from in /out ball rotation and step backs when the defense goes under....they didnt go under plus they called two fouls on Knight on pick and roll screens...So Knight maybe got 6/7 minutes in the first half....taking away our best pick and roll option. (I think we committed 3 turnovers trying to get it too Welch and Hutson in first half, Drake defended it well) and out best post up option...effecting the ball movement and open 3s....and left us just playing desperate basketball.....

UNI after their win today has Indiana State on the road.,and us at home.
MSU has Bradley at home and Evansville on the road
Drake has Indiana St at home,Valpo on the road and Southern at home

Fingers crossed....

Win our last three games and we clinch the MVC regular season title outright, lock up at least an NIT bid and go into St. Louis with some confidence. Still think an at-large is an uphill climb, but @UNI will be a Q2.

Lunardi has us in currently. But squarely in the range to get bumped, either by a loss or by a bid-stealer.

Assume the mvc title will be decided by the Loyola v uni game

With respect to the NCAA’s I stand by my post from the previous Drake loss; MVC is a 1 bid league this year and the WCC will get 2 only unless somehow Gonzaga and St Marys don’t win the tourney. I still think we can run the table in Arch Madness. A healthy Kennedy can go a long way — key is that he’s 90% at a minimum.
