Tougher game than Illinois was!
Yeah, different match-ups / different game plan. GA Tech guards definitely played better. Loyola probably snatched a top 15 draft pick from Ayo with our defense today
I’m so proud of this team. My fiancé is a Illini grad, and even she was rooting for Loyola today hahah. I can now die happy, best game I’ve ever watched.

Georgia Tech played as a team like we do. Our gameplan was asking every guy to do something. Illinois looked like they kept believing they could just out talent us. Never adjusted on Krutwig or how we were defending the pick and roll with Ayo and Kofi.
I understand Ayo is an All American, but when we're stopping him you can't expect to keep doing the same thing and get a different result.
Have you read the Illini message board prior to the game? It's full of cheap shots.
But I agree, Ayo is a great player and an all around good kid. Wish him luck in the NBA draft.
U of I has a great team and probably could have won it all if they got past Loyola, but I don't think you all had a great game plan for the way the Ramblers play ball. The fact that Loyola was slotted as an 8 seed, however, is absolutely absurd. The Illini were a victim of that result.

His coach called him that when he showed up with that mask. It was on the broadcast Friday. That’s why I used it. Anyway, holding him to 9 points was a major key to the win.
