Per Matt Norlander on Twitter, Loyola was reportedly offering 10 years escalating from $2.2 million with perks like Cubs season tickets, etc.

So, if true, he is only making a few hundred thousand more in Norman.

LU offered 10 years, $2.2 a year plus perks like Cubs season tickets.

Can't help but think he was pissed that the NCAA screwed LU this year

I’m not sure if that makes me feel better, that we had people step up to go that big, or worse because it still wasn’t enough.

Personally, makes me feel worse. Happy we have the donors willing to step up. But for a guy who seemed to be a perfect fit in many ways (Jesuit, Chicagoan, etc) to turn that down for a few hundred thousand more to move to Oklahoma is depressing.

It's not always just the money. Kevin makes a very solid point/comparison here.

If the deal is $2.5 per year for 6 yrs at OK, he will also up his take from Nike, his camp, media show etc.
I would guess that all in he will have at least $300-400k more of income. But the point is valid about the money being not massively different.
