Recruiting Class of 2019
Re: Recruiting Class of 2019
Another intriguing name; Haanif Cheatham. Long guard that played for Marquette and FGCU; he's leaving FGCU as a grad transfer after being injured this past year.

Per Twitter, Pavle Pantovic of DePaul College Prep will be joining the team next year as a preferred walk-on. 6'6 forward player with a nice hook shot and baseline jumper. Plays for Illinois Wolves.

More grad transfer news. While it is unlikely that he would be someone we'd target, Smits leaving Valpo certainly doesn't help them next season.
Re: Recruiting Class of 2019
Totally just guessing based off twitter, but Jalon Pipkins may be the front runner for the last spot on the Ramblers. Fits what we need; ball handler who can score and create their own shot.

Re: Recruiting Class of 2019
I think this is the guy to complete our 2019 recruiting class: Dainan Swoope, a grad transfer point guard from Elon out of Overland Park Kansas who went to Sunrise Christian Academy and played for Mokan AAU.
Recently followed by Drew Valentine on Twitter and following both Drew and Porter's Jacket (does the Jacket ever sleep?).
Swoope checks all my boxes so let's get him!
I'll let Blers fill in the details...

Re: Recruiting Class of 2019
Swoopes an interesting player; was a pretty effective player for Elon averaging 17 points the first half of his junior year until he sprained his ankle midway through the 17-18 season. He gutted it out the rest of the year and his efficiency dipped some (finished the year averaging 12 a game). Started playing this season and was still having trouble with the injury so he opted for surgery and missed all but 5 games this year.
Outside him and Pipkins keep an eye on Javion Hamlet. Hamlet is the 20th ranked JUCO player in the country that ran point for the number 1 seed in the JUCO tourney (Northwest Florida State) before they fell in the Elite 8. He can score at all 3 levels and is really quick with the ball, which allows him to break down defenses and create his own shot. He's also a super efficient scorer, averaging over 17.6 ppg while shooting 56% (44% from 3), and averaging 6.6 assists per game. He'd be a major add.
Arkansas and San Diego/San Diego State look to be recruiting him with us at the moment.

We are also, to some extent, involved with Luwane Pipkins.

I hope Hamlet can make up his mind by the April signing period where to commit.
I understand he's prone to indecision.

DePaul is also looking at Javion Hamlet, where he could join a stellar recruiting class that included 4 star forward Romeo Weems.
