I'm not bothered. Are Creighton fans upset about travel in the big east? Besides, there's a pretty high chance life takes me to a metropolis on the east coast for an extended period of time. There's zero chance it takes me to evansville Indiana. I'd love to catch a blers game once or more a year if I end up having to move.

Yeah, going to Brooklyn for the A10 tourney sounds great -- can party my ass off way more in NYC than St. Lousy.

The Bradley board is delusional & catatonic and its hilarious. Drake is more level-headed and understanding. The general MVC board has a mix.

Biggest fear I have is Dayton and/or SLU jump to the Big East in the next couple years. Then the conference becomes really east coast dominated and not nearly as strong in basketball, generally. There have been reports that the Big East is looking to expand and I think one (or both) of those schools have to beat on the short list.

Bradley folks didn’t want us in the conference 9 years ago. They believed we weren’t good enough for them. They should be thrilled we’ll no longer be a burden.

As previously pointed out, Memphis and Temple aren't leaving due to football.

I don't think Wichita State will leave because of the money involved.

The AAC exit fee is $10 million plus a 27 month notice. Connecticut negotiated a shorter notice in exchange for a $17 million exit fee. Cincinnati, UCF, and Houston will all pay $10+ million each to leave. This money typically gets redistributed to the schools that remain in the conference. Plus when you leave, you forfeit your NCAA tournament distributions.

That means that WSU can either pay $10 million to leave or they can stay in the American and collect their share of other teams' exit fees plus the additional NCAA tournament shares. Because many of these fees aren't disclosed publicly and it's hard to pin down the value of an NCAA tournament share we won't know the true cost to leave. However, my guess based on just rough numbers is that it would cost WSU at least $20 million in an exit fee plus forfeited distributions to leave the AAC for the A10. At that cost, I don't see it happening.

Memphis probably (rightly) thinks it will join the Big 12 or equivalent at some point, so probably a longshot there.

Watson gets his dream, back in the A10, now the A18? Not a fan of the move - forgetting the other sports - in hoops you’ll have recruits excited to play Dayton. Maybe SLU and that’s about it. I think in 3 years time you will see a drop off in the amount of in state recruits that has been the cornerstone of the rebuild.

My opinion is this has disaster written all over it starting around 2025.
