I definitely think he's more of a 4.

In that press release, Coach compared him to Aundre Jackson so I am thinking someone who can be out there with Hutty but can also be out there solo against more athletic teams without a traditional 5. Seems that Jackson had a better outside game than Knight does so will be interesting to see how he is used with Hutty and Welch.

He’s a big. Scores around the rim.

We don’t know what a 4 or 5 looks like for Valentine. If it’s a 4 out system, I think he is the 5 man on the inside. If Valentine is not running the same 4 out, then maybe he will be used more as a 4. Maybe Hutty spaces enough that even with a 4 out they can both be out there.

Will be interesting to see how Valentine constructs this

He also may have been used more inside because of a lack of other options. It will be interesting to see how he fits in our system, as I’m sure they have a plan.

I think that he is a 4 3/8s.

So he’s a Colt

Assuming Hutson can shoot the 3 at a solid clip, our offense could afford Knight to play at the 4. In modern hoops you almost always want 4 players on the floor that can space it, otherwise I think Knight fits the role of a traditional 5 in our offense.

No. A Colt would be a 6 shot, 38 special.

Y'all are too concerned about the offense re: Knight/Hutson minutes. The question (depending perhaps on how Valentine differs from Porter) is who matches up better defensively at the 5. I doubt we'll know that until those two have duked it out in practice for a little while.

I love Krut and am grateful for his four years here. Regardless of whose jersey he is wearing next year I will be a supporter. That being said, I don't think the Jokic comparisons work that well. That's obviously who he would be a comp for in the NBA, but Jokic has 4 inches on him and is shooting 41% from three this year. Jokic is also the leading candidate for MVP so I guess it's possible Cam could find a smaller role somewhere, but he's such a unique player and that's not usually who NBA coaches have coming off the bench. The 76ers have Dwight Howard coming off the bench it's hard to see an opposing team putting Cam in for those minutes.
