Jackson's good run continues. He was named to the Paradise Jam All-Tournament Team:

Alright. Now, let's steal a win at NC State and come home and beat SDSU at home. Both would be signature wins and would be huge (or, as our president elect says, yuuuuuge)

Had a chance on the day off Sunday to talk to some coaches and the trainer in the hotel lobby.
They were heading out for a harbor cruise, some snorkeling and kayaking. Then a nice dinner.
The trip was a great experience for a fine bunch of young men.
Satherwaite is a great talent. Plays a little out of control at times but he will be a real star in the future.
Jackson is a real find and very serious about his opportunity. He comes off the bench but is just itching to start.
I really enjoyed Kirby against oral Roberts. It really boasted his confidence. We will really need him in the conference,
I personally think we will take third in the conference and.beat EVERY team at least once. Next year we will be playing in a tourney in Georgia.
A lot of work is being done behind the scenes to refocus the Varsity Club into a more active fan friendly entity that provide a fan friendly post game venue like the former Zips.
I would also expect a well organized travel package. Heck Creighton had 250 supporters at Paradise and we had 15, eleven of which were related to players,
Also to to see Crisman and London on the staff. Two fine young me .

I'm really glad to hear about this....For as small of a following as LU basketball has, I've been disappointed about the level of "community", before, after and during the home games. Any change would be good change in my opinion.

The AD is really determined to rebuild that sense of community and unity as he is aware of how that can drive ticket sales and fund raising. Heck, all you have to do is look at the graduate school of business to see how they do it.
They are always having some type of event and have established traditional events that you can always count on being in the calendar at a certain time.
With athletics it starts with establishing a preseason tip off date and place. It used to be Harry Caray's but we got a great deal there. I think you will find Loyola athletics having the tip off luncheon at the downtown campus every year. It is held at a great facility, a more convenient location and it is less expensive to boot.
Also they need to establish the same for a post season banquet for the team. They should know the date BEFORE THE SEASON starts and then promote the heck out of it. It does take time after so much neglect.
You will also see a revamped benefits list for various giving levels for men's basketball. This is a must. Porter should not have to conduct his own event to raise money at a dinner/auction as nice as that event has been the last two years.
There also must be better communication and much better promotion of road trips and tourneys.
Although it was not inexpensive to only have 15 people at Paradise Jam and 11 of those were relatives of the parents and ditto for the Great Alaska Shootout means to me that the event was not well promoted. I expect a great fall off in attendance at the Arch Madness which is a real fun event. Creighton had over 250 people at Paradise Jam and their own t shirt. NC State and Mississippi were also well represented. Even Oral Roberts had more fans than we did. At the bottom was Montana with four and Washington St was missing some as well but heck they are West Coast.
But lets say this, this AD gets it and is willing to turn things around.
We are lucky to have both him and Porter.
But the plans are being drawn up to improve all of this. Tom Saboro is working very hard on it.
Winning will help as well as a better schedule.

Nice receive all this positive info. 25--but it begs the question--How do Watson's bosses feel and how are they going to help ?? OR are we about to go back to the "bad old days " of little support from the top ??

Reply to 25 yrs....
I've read your last two posts. They are both exciting and worrisome.
The new administration, I hear, has imposed across the board cuts.
I wish we had more information about the budgets, etc. I wish we had a measure of our conference opponents budgets for
comparison sake. I see your point about stepping up to the plate, but would like to know that the funds could be appropriated
as specifically as possible and also know who decides how the funds would be spent.
Personally, it would be nice to know that we could count on continuity with Coach Moser. I don't know if he wants that, but I do as I think he is the most critical piece of the progress of this program, outside of budget issues. I also do not want to toss funds that are hard for me to come by into the program without feeling the community mentioned earlier in your post, and knowing that they are not spent far away from what is most needed. I also don't want to see a successful season turn into a better job for the coach elsewhere because we will not commit to his retention. I believe that successful season is close by and would hate to see that outcome. I have never seen him not hard at work and engaged with this team and this program. Perhaps Porter could have a wish list, etc. or is that not allowed by some rules situation.
Other than that, I am always looking to see your comments and appreciate the insights. I am still smarting over Matt's misfortune. I had been looking forward to seeing him play this year. I hope he can get past his injury and get back on the court with the Ramblers..... That aside, I am looking forward to our players having success this year. They have shown a lot to start the season, keep it going......
Happy Thanksgiving to all Rambler fans... Can't wait for the team to get back to the Joe.
