Thanks for the insight Swella. I am always skeptical of high school high scoring averages especially from taller players who can dominate much shorter opponents.
I think about games like the Benedictine game where some poor 6'4" 170 player had to guard Krutwig in the paint. (not to take anything away from King Krut).
Nice to get the insights into what is coming down the pike.

Getting ready to watch Brother Rice and Marquise Kennedy take on St. Francis Wheaton. I hope Marquise is as quick as advertised and that BR coach Bobby Frasor plays uptempo. Personally I think that's the one thing Loyola needs, a quick point guatd who can push it up the floor.

A real barn burner: 7-4 at end of first quarter.Marquise split a pair of free throws for only point.

Kennedy heating up a little. A nice tip semi dunk. He can really jump. In fact he jumped center to start the game.
A couple coast to coast drives for basket and assist.
A three from the top of the key.
He has 10 at the half.

Rice up 40-22 after 3. Kennedy with 17.
I like how he plays under control and I like his demeanor-very calm, almost Zen-like. He lets the game come to him.
They post him up once in a while and he's either scored or drawn a foul.
He's plenty quick but not David Bailey flashy quick. More sneaky quick; he'll be gliding along then all of a sudden change gears and blow by the defender.

Rice wins 56-39 and Kennedy goes for 23.
I definitely think Welch and Kennedy are both great recruits and can contribute immediately. But I'm really setting my sights for the 2020-2021 season when they are sophomores and join seniors Krutwig, Williamson and Neron. That should be a good team.

Reading the Twitter tea leaves, it looks like both we and Nevada are interested in Mike Lewis II, a junior guard who recently transferred from Duquesne. He would have 3 semesters' elegibility remaining.
He was the A10 freshman of the year and averaged over 14 ppg his first two years. His minutes and numbers dropped off this year due to an influx of newcomers (including Brandon Wade and Lamar Norman who we both recruited).
