Have to love it. I would not be surprised if we leave the final spot open so we have two for next year.

We already have 2 for next year with Custer and Towns both graduating after this year. Plus we rolled one over from last year to this year, so its not likely that we roll one over in back to back years. Andre Gordon whose the number one prospect in West Virginia and another combo guard was scheduled to do an official visit "late September" according to reports from late August, which both Andre and Huntington Prep the school he attends retweeted. This could have changed with the addition of Kennedy, but it is something to keep in mind. Also have to remember that even if we don't land Andre Gordon who just landed an offer from DePaul this week that transfers are an option. We don't know who'll be available via transfer at the end of the year and that is always an option.Have to love it. I would not be surprised if we leave the final spot open so we have two for next year.
We only have one open scholarship for next year (19-20). If we filled it, we would only have one available for 20-21.Newman104 wrote:We already have 2 for next year with Custer and Towns both graduating after this year. Maybe many of them do have to leave. A little off topic, but this reminded me to recommend "All the Dreams We Dreamed" by Rus Bradbud which I just read. It's about basketball (centered on Marshall) and gun violence in Chicago. Part of the intersection of the two themes has to do with parents trying to get their kids out of Chicago, via basketball scholarships if possible. Also an inside view of the seamier side of recruiting.JCT wrote:...Good for the guy for staying in the Chicago area. I feel bad for all those kids who leave town to go to school in a cornfield when they don't really have to...
VerbalComitts disagrees. They say even if we sign another player this year we will have 2 scholarships to give out to the 2020 class. They also say that even if we sign everyone in this class and the next one that we will have 4 scholarships for the 2021 class. This lines up with the scholarships we have. Skokna and Hall will graduate freeing up 2 scholarships for the 2020 class, and then Williamson, Uguak, Krutwig and Negron graduate opening 4 spots for the 2021 class. We only have one open scholarship for next year (19-20). If we filled it, we would only have one available for 20-21.
