Another 2014 offer that I didn't know about is to Jevon Carter of Proviso East, per a tweet from Joe Henricksen at the S-T last night. I don't know if it's a new offer.
Carter is 6'1" shooting guard and is rated 3-stars by ESPN. He has or had offers from schools like ISUr, ISUb, Kent State, Dartmouth, Wichita State, Green Bay, Valpo...
According to one story, his cousin is Keith Carter.

Has Wichita actually offered? We have a thread on him in our recruiting forum but no mention of an offer. And to be honest, it's not the position of greatest need for us as we seem focused on C/PF types with a couple of SF and PGs sprinkled in. O'Mara is a kid that we're definitely interseted in though but I'm not sure if we've offered him yet or not.

From what I can ascertain over the internet and through posts on this board, we have 5 potential realistic targets left to fill our last scholarship:

Offers from: LOYOLA, IUPUI, UNC Greensboro, Toledo, Indiana State
- Jevon Carter, 6'1.5 PG, Maywood, IL/Proviso East, 3 star/70 scout score/#17 in IL (ESPN)
Offers from: LOYOLA, Green Bay, Akron, LaSalle, Indiana State, Illinois State, Kent State, Dartmouth, Mercer, Toledo, Lehigh, Valparaiso (where his cousin Keith goes)
- Patrick McCaw, 6'5 SG, St. Louis, MO/Christian Brothers College HS, 4 star/82 score/#2 in MO/#17 shooting guard in nation (ESPN), 3 star (Rivals)
Offers from: LOYOLA, Bradley, Illinois State, Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech, St. Louis (recieved on 8/8), Ole Miss, Southern Illinois, Missouri State, Missouri (interest)
- JayQuan McCloud, 6'2 SG, North Chicago, IL/North Chicago Community, 3 star (Scout), Most Improved Player (IL Prep Bullseye)
Offers from: LOYOLA, Georgia State, Indiana State, Missouri State, Nevada, Rhode Island, North Dakota, Wright State, Northern Illinois
- Sean O'Mara, 6'9 PF/C, Glen Ellyn, IL/Benet Academy, 4 star/80 score/#12 in IL/#20 center in nation (ESPN), 3 star/141 in nation (Rivals)

I think we've also given an offer to Ore Arogundade, a 6'3" SG at St. Viator, who's had offers from Creighton, Drake, SIU, St. Louis, Wright State, San Francisco, UMKC, NIU, San Jose State, Utah State, and Murray State. Rivals gives him a 3.
Also Jeremie Tyler. a 6-2 SG from Indianapolis, IN (Arsenal). Listed as a 3-star recruit. He has offers from Vermont, Murray State, Ball State, Miami (OH), Ohio, Western Michigan, Fairfield, Western Kentucky, Grambling and IUPUI.

I think we're out on the Arogundade sweepstakes. Also, I think we're losing traction with Tyler as well. McCaw could very well be a name coming off that list because his recruiting has picked up.

Solid recon by lusuperfan, as Arogundade committed to Drake today.

What do you think our odds are of landing O'Mara?

No one can know what crazy things will drive the ultimate decision on where kids go to school. Personal relationships with recruiters and basketball staff, wanting to stay at home or go away, chances for getting noticed at the national level, basketball facilities, the coach's playing style, dorms, urban or rural locations, etc. all play a big role. I'd like to also think that graduation rates, academics, and career development opportunities are important.... especially since we'd have a leg up in those areas.
One thing seems certain to me, though-- I don't think we'd be in the mix for a recruit like O'Mara if it hadn't been for the move to the MVC and recent facilities upgrades.

Yea...if O'Mara was making his college choice by picking schools blindly out of a hat.
