So the question is what would a team of Norris, Welch, Schwiegert, Dawson, Lewis, Hutson, St. Thomas, and Wojcilk and Ty have done working and developing together....you can throw in one transfer

Saint Thomas had 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in Northern Colorado's 75-71 win over Cal St. Northridge on Saturday.

Also on Saturday, Jacob Hutson had 17 points on 8 of 11 shooting plus 6 rebounds and 4 assists, but Evansville beat UNI 91-89 in OT. Evansville is 7-1 on the year and UNI is 2-6.

UNI had high hopes coming into the year. But they stink.

Checked out their board for fun and saw multiple posts with 5+ paragraph essays about the downfall of Loyola basketball.

Saw those posts about our downfall as well...while the UIC & Chicago State performances were not acceptable, the fact that we can say they were unacceptable proves we haven't had our "downfall". In the H League days we didn't have expectations, fans or for the most part interesting games/teams coming to Gentile. Saturday was rocking, with a great crowd and great opponent on our home gym. I assume all most of us want is a fun team/relevant program & those boxes are still checked.

Hutty & Saint Thomas updates covered above. A few of the others I've been tracking:

-TY Johnson (UC Davis) - The Aggies dropped a game at home to 2-6 Sacramento State (woof). Johnson played 35 minutes and shot 8-17 (0-4 from deep), with 21 points. Had 4 assists and 3 TOs. In a 12 point loss to a meh Oregon State team, Johnson didn't do a ton--29 minutes, 9 points (3-7 shooting) and 4 TOs. Overall, he's 2nd on the team with 13.5 points per game, 2nd on the team with 2.2 assists per game, 3rd on the team with 26.5 min per game and leads the team with 2.8 TOs per game. He's also only shooting 10% (1-10) from deep.

-Paxson Wojcik (North Carolina) - Looks like Paxson is no longer a starter with the Tar Heels. They went to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis, where they went 2-1 (beat Northern Iowa & Arkansas, lost to Nova in OT). They then beat a good Tennessee team and Florida St. Paxson got good minutes in the Bahamas--13 min vs UNI (6 points, 4-4 from FT line), 20 min vs Villanova (2 points, 0-2 from deep) and 20 min vs Arkansas (5 points on 2-5 shooting). Big decline in minutes in the next two games--3 min vs Tennessee with no stats and 4 min vs FSU with 0-2 shooting and 1 AST. Will be interesting to see Paxson's roll going forward. He's a steady hand who doesn't turn the ball over a lot but isn't much of a scoring threat.

-Marquise Kennedy (UIC) - The Flames had a huge 30 point win over Middle Tennessee and then beat our A-10 pal George Washington by 10. Then they dropped a 1 point game to a good UNC-Greensboro team and a 5 point loss in their MVC opener to ISUr. Quise started getting bigger minutes the last two games. Against UNC-G, he played 15 minutes--2 points, 4 rebounds and 2 TOs. Against familiar foe ISUr, 17 minutes--4 points (2-4 shooting), 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 2 TOs. Look forward to Quise getting more and more minutes for a solid UIC squad.

latest on Ty Johnson at UC Davis
Ty Johnson has also been a huge part of this team's offense. During his second season with the team after transferring from Loyola University Chicago, the junior guard has racked up 177 points, which averages out to 16.1 per game. He also distributes the ball as he leads the team in assists with 30.
