I'm kind of concerned at how we're getting beaten up in every single game now. Punches in the face, hard collisions, ordinary hard contact, hard fouls at the hoop, etc. When we're on the road, they don't call it as much.

Great road win in a tough place to play.

By the way, Illinois State loses again on a late three at Missouri State.

Teams definitely feel they can pummel us with impunity. Maybe Custer should turn around mid layup and punch someone in the face instead of getting blocked from behind for the 50th time this year. That will learn em!

It wasn’t just a three, it was a half court heave at the buzzer at the end of a crazy sequence. Likely another Sportscenter Top 10 play for an MVC team, and the second one where IL State is the victim. ... That’s a shame.

The guys made a miracle happen. Watching how this game was going and having seen our road offense in many other games, I knew there was no way to pull this out. and next thing we're up by 6 with 30 seconds left. We run, we win. Right Brot?

Too, maybe the Valpo fans weren't the only ones who have trouble believing in their team.

As a VU fan I can testify to how badly we stunk up the OOC month of December. Then Valley play starts strong before brand new injuries sidetrack the process. You've had much of the same so you understand the frustration. Its hard to stretch the defense for the bigs when your 3 point specialists are wearing street cloths or battling the flu (Golder today).

I loved the defensive efforts of both teams. Very few lost assignments or easy buckets anywhere! Looking forward to the March rematch.

Also---while I have no official or unofficial capacity with VU I have also battled its parking problems. If you had to hike in from the hinterlands please e-mail or call somebody and give them hell. Tell them I sent you.

Wow, the Valpo board has started to accuse our fans of being like Butler fans. They also apparently didn’t like Porters thank you to our students on the bus, post-game.

That’s a shame. I wanted to like those guys. I was even happy we were able to help them get their sellout this season.

I love everything about this. I wish I could copy this and post it to the board three years ago.

Yeah they’re really being pathetic on their board and making desperate attempts to put down Loyola. It’s quite entertaining to read, they have to get personal and still fail at doing so because they can’t win a game against us.

Almost immediately after joining the Horizon League they were belittling Loyola. They talked as though they were superior to LU and always had been. Our history as a top program and National Champion was irrelevant, because it was so long ago. They actally believe their academics are superior. They sided with Le Crone supporters when it came to a neutral site tournament and other policies that benefited certain programs over others, especially Loyola. They jealousy badmouthed us when we were added to the MVC and claimed the HL would be a stronger conference with us gone, and the MVC would be dragged down by us.

I have never really liked them, but they have a good program and fan base. They were the best program available when WSU left. So, we'll have to suck it up and live with it.
