NC State bails
Re: NC State bails
Agree on 1 and 3. I don't necessarily think taking multiple buy games helps us though. I'd much rather see a h/h with another mid-major.

Re: NC State bails
I wouldn't mind that but I wonder how late in the scheduling calendar it is to pull that off. I also don't think all buy games are created equal though. There's a difference between our buy game at Michigan St. and a buy game against an average P5 program. I think 3 versus top 15 teams is too much, but 1 against a top 15 team and 2 against bottom dwellers like Rutgers and Penn St. would be more than ideal (probably a mix of conferences though; just using the big 10 as a reference). The problem is we don't even play in 1 every year and we don't schedule enough solid H/Hs to not have to resort to filling out our schedule with an NAIA school.ahunte1 wrote:Agree on 1 and 3. Thinking back on this today. We wouldn’t have scheduled Florida had NC State not bailed on us, correct? So we got paid twice for our biggest win in decades.

01 I think it was Norfolk State too, but tbh there might have been some other last minute changes off of the NC State domino effect with the schedule that led us to the Florida game.
That said, we should be more than fine in terms of money now.

That’s where my thinking was coming from, since the Florida announcement came a while after NC State bailed.

I actually wouldn't be too surprised if Duke visited Northwestern next year in their renovated stadium because of the Coach K-Collins connection.
But that's as close as Duke will ever get to the Joe.

We built a big, beautiful victory in Florida and made Florida pay for it.
