Sounds like the athletic department is taking a page out of the governmental playbookLU 86 wrote:Nobody in the athletic dept wants a guy that will tell you the unvarnished truth and then actually do something to make it better

Re: New Assistants
no successful organization is made up of just yes people. You need a diverse set of views and then have a strong leader to choose a course and get everyone committed to it. If this athletic dept is going to really fundraise and raise awareness in the Loyola community then its needs to have some former players and alum who can connect with that base. The challenge for Loyola is to engerize a larger segment of the alumni base into supporting athletics across the board. It takes a very strong person to invite that type of discussion in but the results can truly transform what any organization can accomplish
On a personal level I would love to see a former player on the coaching staff

Also, sounds like Matt Gordon is getting promoted and Daniyal Robinson will also be one of the assistants, so that means there's one spot left.

Re: New Assistants
Here's a breathless quote from the article:
The author fails to note that one of the three assistants left NOT FOR a high major, a top 25 program, or the Big Ten Conference, but for a local high school. I guess that might have diminished the impact of his thesis that Moser was adept at grooming his assistants for future glory. It also says something about a mid-major program when assistant coaches are being courted by high majors, top 25 programs and the Big Ten Conference. It's a reflection of the job Moser has done in filling out his staff.
Re: New Assistants
It's also worth noting that if we DO get Daniyal Robinson, he has four years experience at Houston (CUSA) and two years at Iowa State (Big 12). With all the talk about people moving "up" from Loyola, this might be the first assistant we've ever had that worked at two BCS schools before coming here.
