6’6 fifth heat wing with (presumptively) one year remaining. Missed most of his junior year with an injury. Shot 37% on threes last year, with some volume (114 attempts). 79% career free thrown shooter.

As of now what the likely starting 5 for next year? Top 8 guys? What gaps are we trying to fill?

My way too early guess for the rotation would be:

Starters: 1) Moore, 2) Tavares 3)Houinsou, 4) Amos, 5) Rubin

Subs:
Guard: Patrick/Dotson
Wing: Glazkov/Love
Big: Young

If Richardson is legit he might be the 2nd Big sub over young.

If Richardson isn’t legit they probably need one more big and I’d guess they’re looking either for a “proven” guy with one year left for more depth on the wing or a guy with multi-years remaining who is willing to be more developmental this year and not see a ton of playing time.

No guarantee they use all the scholarships either. Could give them to a few of the walk ons to keep guys around who know the systems and willing to be scout team.

We haven't actually landed Richardson yet, have we?

I have not seen/found anything beyond Drew’s IG post of the highlight video. By “legit” I more meant the idea of him joining the program, not an indication of his skill level.

Going to be hard to put Patrick on the bench is my early guess. Those 2-3 positions (even 4 if we go small) will be tough competition

I agree that is the most likely lineup to start the year (from a seniority/experience/etc standpoint, which is usually the baseline for lineups at the start of seasons), but I'm not sure how long it will last. The team was a lot more successful last season with lineups that had 3 shooters on the floor. With Houinsou and Rubin both being non-shooters, Moore being a fairly iffy shooter, and Amos being kind of a question mark in that regard, it might be tough to keep that group out there offensively.

With Love being highly-touted recruit, if he shows a good 3 pt shot I think he might start over Houinsou, as crazy as that sounds, with Houinsou serving as a swiss army knife off the bench that can sub for positions 1-4.

That will not be the starting lineup. The only 3 shooter in that group is Tavarez. There is also not an established post player scorer. It would be a bad lineup.

Hinsou goes to the bench. Taveras, German Kid or Love , maybe both, and/or Daniil. 3 of these 4 will be starting with Moore and Rubin. Remember, Drew likes the 4 out and 1 post. Amos could crack starting lineup, but I look for 3 shooters to start.

There are other factors like defense and match ups, but we are a 3 pt shooting based team normally.

I think they view Amos as a stretch 4 next to Miles. We should consider him a "shooter" for all intents and purposes.

He's a career 28% 3pt shooter
