The Ivy League has quietly become a very strong mid major conference. Yale, Harvard, and Princeton are very solid programs. Yale has won 20 games or more two straight seasons, and knocked off Miami on the road and took Memphis to double overtime. According to the RPI (yes, it's still calculated and necessary for comparison over time), the Ivy was 15th as a conference last year and 10th the year before (ahead of the MVC).

You can credit the rise of the Ivy League to Grace Calhoun being hired as Penn's A.D. She has the rare ability to make all boats rise, like trickle down economics.
At least I'm sure Calhoun put that on her resume while applying for the UCLA and Boston College AD jobs.

Wow. Pat Kraft her deputy AD at Loyola beat her out for the BC AD job.

I'm not surprised. Pat is a sharp guy. He grew up in Libertyville and I coached him in Little League.

64, wasn't Abner Doubleday your Little League coach?

Interesting! Saw the Pat Kraft press conference.
Lets see:
1. Last year BC was 13-19 in men's bball;
2. A Jesuit school;
3. They want to insure that whoever they hire understands Jesuit culture and values
and does things the right way; Their Prez said that Pat Kraft was all those things.
4. BC is a Big East school which is a top 5 conference certainly a top job!
5. They want to return to a top role in athletics and need someone to do that.
6. Boston is a great town.
7. Hmm! I wonder if they replace their bball coach, who could be on a list of candidates?

Maybe Swella can get one of his top sleuths working on this.

BC has been in the ACC since 2005, which makes the point of your post perhaps even more interesting.

I attended Harvard Law School after graduating from Loyola in 1963. While at Harvard, I went to only one Harvard basketball game, which was against Princeton. All of the players looked and played like high school kids, except for one - Bill Bradley. Ivy League basketball has come a long way since then. Can't say the same about BC basketball.

Yikes! Me Bad!
Thanks Ahunte1 for the correction on the league.
Makes it even worse.
If the knock on that door comes, it will be impossible to turn down.
Maybe Mullins would return.
